Adrienne Wieder­-Finch graduated from Loyola Marymount University School of Film and Television class of 2015 and began pursuing a life of digital production and storytelling right away. Her breezy up ­and­ up YouTube channel – “Adrienne Finch” – is actually something of a production miracle. Generated in her spare time senior year of college between a part-time publicity internship at Warner Brothers Studios and a full course load, the weekly web videos have garnered an impressive audience, with a viewership of over two hundred thousand.
Adrienne FinchThe success of Finch’s channel follows hard on the heels of her other industry projects including her position as Head of Production for another wildly successful YouTube channel, “Just Like That,” as well as extended stints as On­-Air hostess for Awesomeness TV. She has also taught many of her own solo workshops on the ins and outs of creating YouTube content, as well as a Graduate level course at LMU titled “Writing For Digital Entertainment” just a year out of college herself.
Finch is a one­-woman production company: she performs in, shoots, and edits each of her videos, and invests substantial thought and time into audience research, promotional strategy, and small­ business entrepreneurship. The key to making a successful YouTube channel? Finch says it succinctly. “Being smart about your audience.” This includes intensive online data analysis as well as that intangible asset Finch has in spades: the imaginative capacity to predict what people want before they know they want it.
